Grey bastard - painting.
'Grey bastard' was amongst the earliest of works that were to form part of this endless series of warped portrait and scenario paintings by the artist largely focusing on lone figures or small groupings engaged in ambiguous, mundane or ludicrous tasks without any clear indication as to their ultimate purpose or meaning. Mutated by their longing for such and their failure to find any, the images try to deal with themes of mortality, faith and the nature of reality by prompting the observer to search for sense where there is none.
This particular painting was completed in February 2007 in the artists studio which at that time was located in Walsall, West Midland's using acrylic, emulsion and ink on a stretched canvas, size 100x80x2cm and is unframed. It is now being made available to own for the first time since it's completion over ten years ago having lost in storage in various homes and studios ever since.
