Supermarket rose - painting.

'Supermarket rose' forms part of an open and occasionally revisited series of floral paintings that sit in sharp contrast to the artists more regular output of warped businessmen, politicians and office workers and operate as an antidote to the more frequent pondering of matters of faith and meaninglessness. It was completed in October 2016 in acrylic, ink and oil pastel on a 30x25cm canvas board by London based artist Carp Matthew alongside a second supermarket rose painting entitled 'Supermarket rose, half dead'. The flower itself was picked from a bunch purchased at Aldi Croydon Road for £2.
