Rubber nose - painting.
'Rubber nose' continues an open series of small portrait paintings featuring warped politicians, businessmen, office workers and authority figures trapped in blank spaces engaged in tasks the meanings of which are ambiguous at best and demented at worst. The point is to question whether there is a point at all by promoting the viewer to search for sense where there is none.
This particular painting was worked on in late September/early October alongside five others of various size and subject all featuring cobalt blue as the dominant colour, a favourite of the artist.
The painting is made in acrylic, ink and oil pastel on a 30x24x2cm stretched canvas and was completed in October 2016 by London based artist Carp Matthew.
This painting is unframed.
