Person I saw staring at the soft cheeses in Waitrose - drawing.
An original drawing by London based artist Carp Matthew made in black ink on heavyweight cartridge paper, 200gsm, acid free, size A5 (210X148mm) and completed in July 2017, it forms part of an endless series of warped portrait and scenario works by the artist largely focusing on lone figures or small groupings engaged in ambiguous, mundane or ludicrous tasks without any clear indication as to their ultimate purpose or meaning. Mutated by their longing for such and their failure to find any, the images try to deal with themes of mortality, faith and the nature of reality by prompting the observer to search for sense where there is none.
